    Rick is an experienced employment law advisor and trial attorney who brings a practical, business-minded approach to litigation and litigation avoidance. As an advisor, Rick works closely with in-house counsel and human resources leaders to understand their business needs and develop and implement practical solutions to all manner of employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, fair employment practices, discipline and discharge, leave and accommodations, and restrictive covenant and trade secret implementation and enforcement. He also lectures and provides workplace training on these issues. As a litigator, Rick defends employers in Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour collective and class actions; non-compete and trade secret matters; and single-plaintiff cases involving claims of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation. His clients come from a variety of industries, including financial services, oil and gas, health care, transportation, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, and higher education.
