WEDnetPA

    October 14, 2014

The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) provides two categories of grants to manufacturers and technology-based businesses, Essential Skills (ES) and Advanced Technology (AT).  A company can be reimbursed up to $450 per employee for ES completed training and/or up to $850 per employee for AT completed training.

The company and trained employees must meet WEDnetPA eligibility criteria to be eligible.  Companies must be in Pennsylvania, be manufacturers or technology-based businesses, and have a turnover rate of less than 25% to be eligible to apply for WEDnetPA grants.  Companies with more than one location that share an FEIN must each apply separately.  Employees must be PA residents, permanent, full-time, eligible for benefits, and make at least $10.88 (150% of Federal minimum wage) per hour for the company to be eligible to receive reimbursement for their completed training.

Companies determine their own training needs, select their own trainers (in-house, third party, or WEDnetPA partner provided), where the training will occur, and select the WEDnetPA partnering institution with whom they want to work.  All training for this fiscal year must start and finish between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.

Attached is the WEDnetPA 2014-2015 Company Guidelines with more information or visit the WEDnetPA website.
