    USI Insurance Services will be speaking on "The Great Resignation".

    During the presentation we’ll address the stats and definition, the increase in stress and anxiety since the COVID pandemic began. Dan and the USI team will go over best practices and what’s working. Understanding your employees’ needs, priorities, and expectations. Also, you will see a demo of USI’s Benefits Benchmarking Survey and how to leverage benefits to attract/retain the top talent. We will discuss ways to benchmark your compensation– by position, industry, and location. You will learn more about how to enhance your employee experience from onboarding to on-going training and development. We will also discuss turnover of HR/payroll staff, communication and investing in your employees. Questions at the end if time permits.

    DAN MAJERNIK – Vice President - Employee Benefits

    Dan is responsible for new business development within the employee benefits division of USI. Previously, Dan worked in sales/client management within the health care industry at one of the region’s largest firms and for the Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield managing clients from 51-1000 employees in size. Dan joined USI in 2020. He is a proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dan has 25+ years in sales/service, account management, and recruiting/retention. He is an expert in health care reform, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Dan has a passion for helping employers save money on health care and related benefits’ cost as well as making sure that employees and their families understand how to utilize their benefits. Dan is very active in his local community – Indiana, PA where he is the Basketball Boosters president, football/soccer/basketball coach, member of the football Boosters committee, and executive chair for multiple charity golf outings.

     

    Zack Papalia, PhD, MPH

    • Population Health Management Consultant, Mid-Atlantic Region • Joined USI in May 2019 • Prior to joining USI, was a faculty member in the Kinesiology Department at Penn State University • Ph.D. from Penn State University, with a research focus in optimizing employee health programming • Masters of Public Health from University of Pittsburgh School of Health Policy & Management

     

    PETER STEWART – Vice President, Employee Benefits

    Peter Stewart is an Employee Benefits Consultant with USI’s Pittsburgh office. He is responsible for new business development as well as consulting with clients in planning, design, implementation and ongoing analysis of comprehensive benefits programs to determine both market and cost effectiveness. Peter has more than 20 years of sales, account management and consulting experience. Since joining USI in 2019, he has assisted clients in various industries including manufacturing, healthcare and technology to make thoughtful, data driven decisions with their healthcare dollars ensuring competitive and financially prudent offerings. Prior to joining USI, Peter was an Employee Benefits Consultant with one of the region’s largest bank owned insurance agencies and held various roles in healthcare marketing and advertising sales prior to that. Peter earned his BS in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University. From Pittsburgh, Peter resides in Hampton Township with his wife and two daughters and is active in the local community
